Jewellery Clarification
We would like to take a moment to remind all teams about an important regulation outlined in FIFA Law 4 – Players’ Equipment. In the CDSL constitution, outlined in section 8.1.1, it is defined “Unless otherwise expressed in these by-laws, F.I.F.A. rules and regulations of play shall apply.”
FIFA Law 4 – The Players Equipment states that players are not allowed to wear any form of jewellery, including but not limited to necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, or any other items that may pose a risk to themselves or other players. The rationale behind this rule is to prioritize the safety of all participants on the field and to avoid potential injuries that could occur due to accidental contact with jewellery.
To clarify, if they can not be removed, small hoop earrings and studs must be taped in order to play. An example of small hoop earrings is pictured below. Anything larger than this example must be removed.
